MEET OUR STAFF

Patrick McDonnell, BS, Administrator

Patrick has been an Administrator with Athena Health Care Systems since 1999. Previous to coming to The Summit at Plantsville, he was the administrator at Glastonbury Health Care Center. Patrick received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration from Drexel University and completed the Long Term Care Management Certificate Program at the University of Connecticut for his Nursing Home License. As the administrator, Patrick looks forward to working closely with The Summit’s dedicated staff to enhance its existing programs, to develop new ones, to further serve the residents and to meet the needs of the community.

Patricia L. Conlan, Director of Admissions and Marketing

Pat comes to The Summit at Plantsville with several years of experience as an admissions and marketing director in skilled nursing facilities, and is certified by the Alzheimer’s Dementia Care Professionals Association. Pat resides in Southington and participates in several community organizations. As the admissions director Pat will be the primary contact for residents and families seeking short-term rehabilitation or long-term care.

Deborah Finnegan, MS, RN, Director of Nursing

Debbie brings 33 years of experience in medical surgical nursing management education to The Summit. She is a strong resident and family advocate, dedicated to providing and improving quality care to each resident. She has obtained certification in medical surgical nursing (ANCC) and dementia through DCPA..

Marie T. DiBenedetto, BS, RN, Assistant Director of Nursing

Marie is a newcomer to Long Term Care. She has a varied background as a nurse for 34 years, and for the past four years she was the clinical manager at the Wound Center at Bradley Memorial Hospital. Born and raised in Southington, Marie is well known by local residents and their family and friends. She is also a certified spiritual director and believes in the holistic approach to residents, families and staff at The Summit.

Greg Morales, RN, Director of Staff Development


Kelly Bullard, BA, RN, Infection Control Nurse

Kelly comes to The Summit at Plantsville with 13 years experience as a registered nurse in various nursing facilities. Her goal at The Summit is to keep the residents protected from infectious disease.

Diane Cerrone, C.D.M., C.F.P.P., Director of Dining Services

Diane has been at The Summit for the past 5 years, with over twenty years experience in Food Service. Diane and her staff look forward to providing residents with nutritious and tasteful meals. A dietician and diet technician are on staff to assist with menu planning for a variety of diets.

Elaine Bird, Director of Laundry and Linen Services

Elaine has been at The Summit for the past 29 years. Elaine and her staff provide quality linen services. If you choose to have your loved ones laundry done on the premises, Elaine will be sure it is handled with care.

Marcia Marinaro, MSW, LCSW, Director of Social Services

An advocate for patients and family members and staff, Marcia has been at The Summit at Plantsville for the past sixteen years. The social service department assists residents and families with their adjustment to short or long term placement and related issues.

Melissa Jubert, BSW, Dementia Program Director

Melissa has been at The Summit at Plantsville for the past 5 years. She comes with expertise in Dementia Care. Melissa assists residents and families with psychosocial needs and long and short-term placement.

Barbara Blau, TRW, Director of Recreation

Barbara has joined The Summit with nearly twenty years of recreation experience. She is currently the Director of Therapeutic Recreation and coordinator of recreation on the dementia unit. She is also certified by the Alzheimer’s Dementia Care Professionals Association. Barbara’s philosophy is to be sure the residents at The Summit are able to have the highest quality of life, to be involved in meaningful experiences, and to feel that they are an integral part of The Summit community.

William J. Harvey, OTR/L, QDCP, Director of Rehabilitation Services

Bill is a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist who has practiced in mental health and substance abuse in addition to geriatrics. Bill joined the rehabilitation team at The Summit in July 2004 and became the department manager in December 2005. He currently manages the care provided by the physical, occupational and speech therapies, serves on various Total Quality Management committees at The Summit and is an AFA Qualified Dementia Care Provider. Bill and his staff, in conjunction with your physician, develop individualized therapy programs designed to provide you with the best opportunity to return to your prior level of function and ensure a safe discharge home.

Ron Ciaburri, Director of Physical Plant Service

Ron has been at The Summit at Plantsville for eight years and is a vital to the day-to-day function of the facility.

Kelly Autunno, Director of Financial Services

Kelly Autunno joined The Summit at Plantsville in May 2006 with many years of experience in financial services. She has been employed in skilled nursing facilities for the past four years and is available to answer any questions regarding all financial issues.

Melissa Tentoni, Administrative Assistant/Human Resources Coordinator

Melissa comes to The Summit as a recent graduate from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She holds a degree in Business Administration as well as a minor in Economics. In addition, she has been employed with The Summit for more than three years, working in the Admissions Department. She is very familiar with the building, its residents, and its employees and plans to continue her education in Health Care Administration.
