Management Biographies

Lawrence Santilli, CPA.
President and Chief Executive Officer

As President and Chief Executive Officer of Athena, Mr. Santilli oversees all aspects of Athena's business and maintains the overall mission and vision for the System. Mr. Santilli is also a managing member of Athena Communities, LLC. He was formerly the Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer for Athena and is one of the founders of Athena.

Mr. Santilli is a registered lobbyist with the state of Connecticut. He is widely respected for his financial expertise in the health care industry, and educates legislators on various long-term care and senior health issues.  Mr. Santilli has served on many legislative committees such as the Nursing Home Legislative Task Force Review of Regulations, a Certificate of Need and Reimbursement Committee, the Medicaid Waiver Development Council and the Health Care Advisory Board. He is the past president of the Connecticut Association of Health Care Facilities.

Mr. Santilli is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a major in accounting. He received his C.P.A. designation in 1981.
